The Netherlands is the largest importer and re-exporter of spices in the European Union. The book presents real-life cases that demonstrate the willingness and the need of the Dutch spice sector to move towards sustainability, while highlighting possible solutions to sustainability challenges.
From sorghum to shrimp - A journey through commodity projects (2011) KIT & CFC
The book presents experiences of 11 commodity development projects funded by CFC, the Common Fund for Commodities, an Amsterdam-based international development organization. The projects represent a mix of agricultural commodities - from sorghum to shrimp - in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
Addressing gender equality in agricultural value chains: Sharing work in progress (2011) Anna Laven & Noortje Verhart
This paper discusses a new gender and value chain framework. It looks at mainstreaming gender in the existing chain empowerment framework, developed by KIT (Royal Tropical Institute). The paper is part of the process "On track with gender" of the Dutch Development Policy Review Network (DPRN).
